Simple Machines at GUC Reflection: First, I would like to reflect about how difficult it was to attend this meeting via HorizonLive. Team Simple Machines had one microphone setup that picked up everyone's voice (and other room noises) during the meeting. It was extremely difficult to follow who was talking because I did not know anyone's voice or what role on the team they played. Also, throughout the meeting the team would look at stuff and comment, but since the stuff was not online, I could not see what they were talking about. The meeting started with an agenda in the ppt window of HorizonLive but unfortunately, no introductions of team members. The team discussed the upcoming pilot test scheduled for Monday, March 31, 2003. It seemed as if there was still a lot that needed to be done before the pilot test. Also, the team was disappointed in the work of the 6200 consultants, or the lack there of. The missing work was going to have to be divided by the team members, who already had their own work to do. Lastly, Team Simple Machines appeared to be arguing about the final product. It was hard to tell what exactly they were saying because they were talking in smaller groups, so the microphone was picking up everyone talking at once. |

Design Group - Our Shared Forest Reflection: F1 Design Group was right in the middle of their development phase, when I attended their meeting. They projected the beta version of OSF would be ready in about two weeks. Their storyboards are complete and are ready for client sign-off. The Project Manager insisted that certain decisions needed to be made before the meeting could adjourn (i.e., the navigation bar and naming the games - Julie & I helped come up with possible names: Migration Madness: Fly to Survive and Swap to Survive: Out Eat, Out Fly, Out Live/Last). Overall, the team seemed to be moving right along with only a few glitches. For example, there appeared to be a slight communication problem - certain items that no one knew who was responsible for and then needed to be reassigned. Also, not everyone had the current versions of certain items, like a backdrop for a game, and one team member is not getting his/her share done by the pre established deadline. |
