"When you encounter a problem that you don’t know
how to solve, how do you find the solution for this problem?
You might find a friend or someone who is an expert in that
type of problem and get their help. But there are lots of
times we cannot find those human experts when we need them.
The current computer database and Internet technology allow
us to develop dynamic learning resources that help people
solve problems by providing necessary information and learning
opportunities at the moment of need. It is known as electronic
performance support systems (EPSSs) or just-in-time learning
service.
In this SIG, we will explore examples of EPSSs (e.g., Expert
Systems, Case Library) and discuss design strategies for developing
them, which might differ from general instructional design
strategies."
